Ajax suffer shock defeat

Ajax suffer shock defeat

10 February 2008 - 21:37

Roda JC put Ajax to the sword as they picked up a shock 2-1 victory against the Amsterdam giants thanks to Anouar Hadouir's late winner. Ajax missed the opportunity to move closer to league leaders PSV.

  • Man Utd to sign Chelsea star Andrey Santos?
  • Chelsea to face League One club in FA Cup quarter-final
  • Roland Lamah put Roda in front in the 22nd minute but it was cancelled out shortly before half-time by Klaas-Jan Huntelaar's 22nd league goal of the season.

The game looked destined for a stalemate until Hadouir scored with 11 minutes remaining.

The Amsterdammers are now in third place on 44 points, nine points behind PSV and trailing second-placed Heerenveen on goal difference.
