Germany international Mesut Ozil could possibly extend his stay at Arsenal, having failed to receive any serious offers for his services elsewhere.
The 28-year-old is said to demand a weekly wage of £330,000-a-week, and this is well over the Gunners' proposed package of £250,000-a-week.
Manchester United and Inter Milan are among the high-profile clubs to have been credited with an interest, but according to The Sun, none are prepared to match his wage demands.
As a result, he may have to lower his expectations or accept the contract offer on the table at Arsenal, where he has just eight months remaining on his previous deal.
The Sun also suggests that Besiktas have joined the pursuit of the World Cup winner, although they are likely to fall short of his current salary demands.
Ozil has managed just four league starts for Arsenal this term, with a knee injury affecting his progress. He has yet to register a goal or assist for the FA Cup holders.
