Turkish starlet Berke Ozer wanted by Chelsea

04 April 2018 - 06:22

Chelsea are planning a summer swoop for the brightest prospect in Turkey, Berke Ozer. According to The Sun, Chelsea have deployed their chief scout to watch the 17-year-old player in action and are readying a £10 million bid for the Altinordu FK starlet.

  • Chelsea suffer double injury blow ahead of Villa trip

  • According to The Sun, Chelsea are on the cusp of agreeing a move for the hot prospect for the future.

"Chelsea have been sending scouts to Izmir for Berke Ozer, and to take a look at our project," Altinordu coach told the newspaper.

"At our last meeting they said they could send us players on loan. But they seemed shocked when I said we had to politely decline.

"We are not interested in training up other clubs' players. Our mission is clear. Altinordu will develop local youths to create a complete academy-developed squad."

It is understood that the Blues will offer the player a deal that will see him return to Turkey to continue his development for the next 18 months, with a plan to bring him back to England before his 19th birthday and expected first-team football.
