Milan fans banned

23 August 2007 - 11:20

Milan fans will be banned from attending Sunday's Serie A opener at Genoa, despite an appeal from the Serie A side to allow visiting supporters to attend.

  • Chelsea have held talks for Ayyoub Bouaddi
  • Chelsea want Newcastle star to replace Cucurella?
  • A committee has decided that allowing fans to attend would prove too dangerous after heated tensions between both sets of fans which resulted in the death of a fan in 1995.

Italy has improved stadium security in the wake of a riot in Catania last February when a policeman was killed. Several Milan representatives have called on the Italian FA to allow Milan fans to attend.
