Wes Hoolahan on his way to West Brom

10 September 2018 - 00:55

Norwich City club legend Wes Hoolahan is on the verge of completing a move to Championship hopefuls West Bromwich Albion. The club, who were promoted from the Premier League last season, are confident that a quality signing will help them return to England's top flight after just one season.

  • Chelsea ready to pay €75m for Eduardo Camavinga
  • Chelsea planning move for Strasbourg striker Joaquin Panichelli

  • Hoolahan is currently a free agent and is attracting the interest of several Championship clubs but it is WBA who are believed to be in pole position to secure Hoolahan's signature. The attacking midfielder has instructed his agent to find him the most suitable offer and is willing to take a significant pay cut on his last salary to make a move to the Baggies.

West Brom are confident that a deal can be agreed for Hoolahan in time for Friday's game between the Baggies and Birmingham City, a bitter city rivalry, and that Hoolahan will still be able to make an impact even at the age of 36. Many believe adding Hoolahan to the club's squad will be the attacking impetus West Brom needs and the player's quality will secure a key three points as many are already making positive football predictions for the weekend.

Manager of WBA, Darren Moore, has informed the club's board that he would need at least two more faces to push for promotion and Hoolahan looks to be the creative impetus the team needs.
