Atletico Madrid are reportedly planning an approach to sign PSV Eindhoven attacker Hirving Lozano at the end of the current campaign.

The Mexico international enjoyed an impressive debut season with PSV last term where he contributed 19 goals in 34 appearances and he has continued his fine form this campaign with four goals from just seven appearances.

According to Calciomercato, Diego Simeone's side have been impressed with the progress of the former Pachuca man and they could be prepared to tussle with Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund for the attacker next summer.

Lozano was initially touted to leave the Dutch champions during the 2018 summer transfer window but the club resisted against his sale with five years remaining on his existing contract.

Despite this, he is being widely fancied to leave Eindhoven at the end of the current season with a number of elite sides prepared to pay a significant price for his signature.
