Espanyol defender Dani Jarque looks set to snub the likes of Tottenham and Liverpool and instead stay in La Liga and join rivals Atletico Madrid.

Jarque had earlier denied that he would leave: "But my dream at the moment is to help Espanyol quality for the Champions League."



But Atletico Madrid boss Javier Aguirre put an offer on the table of £5 million and Espanyol appear to be ready to let the defender leave.



The player is rated as one of the best up and coming defenders in La Liga.
