David de Gea stalling over new Manchester United deal

Manchester United have reportedly made no progress in terms of committing goalkeeper David de Gea to a new long-term contract with the club.

  • Arsenal make surprise decision on Viktor Gyokeres
  • Arsenal to battle Napoli to sign Alexsandro Ribeiro?

  • The Spaniard's current deal expires at the end of the season but United have the option to prolong his stay for a further 12 months with the means of an extension clause.

Despite this, United are keen to tie the Spaniard on a long-term basis but The Telegraph reports that the club have yet to make progress with regards to the contract negotiations.

The former Atletico Madrid graduate has already been offered a £275,000-a-week contract on the table but he remains reluctant to pen the extension given the club's struggles on the field this term.

Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are currently keeping tabs on the goalkeeper's developments as they remain keen on recruiting a world-class shot-stopper, who could stay put on a long-term basis.
