Megson forgives unlucky Bolton

Megson forgives unlucky Bolton

19 March 2008 - 22:46

Bolton boss Gary Megson praised his Trotters side - despite slumping to a 2-0 defeat to Premiership champions Man Utd at Old Trafford. Bolton did have their fair share of chances against United, and Megson felt they could've come back with their own share of the spoils.

  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
  • Megson said: "We were sloppy on set pieces, any team in the Premiership - once you go a goal down - you have to close down.

"Ronaldo's goal was fantastic, and to be fair they probably had more chances to score in this game than they have in quite a few games. And that's at Old Trafford. The pleasing thing is that we did okay."

Bolton still sit firmly rooted in the relegation zone, two points behind Sunderland and Birmingham who remain on 27 points.
