Fulham are ready to make a loan transfer move for Man Utd forward Tahith Chong once the summer window reopens and are confident that they can agree on a contract with the Old Trafford side. The Cottagers, who look set to be relegated to the Championship after just one season in the Premier League, are already planning for life in the English second flight.
It is highly likely that Fulham will need to sell some of their star players such as Andre Schurrle and Ryan Babel, and with that in mind it appears the Cottagers are to make several loan transfer moves in order to reserve cash that is required to offset the Premier League revenues that will be lost.
Tahith Chong, who is comfortable playing either in right wing or on his own up front, is considered one of Manchester United's brightest prospects and is very highly rated in his homeland of the Netherlands. Having arrived at Old Trafford in 2014 from Feyenoord, Chong has worked hard to force his way through to the first-team but has as yet been unable to dislodge the likes of Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard.
Chong, who was born in Curacao, has played for the Netherland's youth sides from every level from under-15 to under-21 and has apepared almost 30 times for his country.
Chong has appeared three times so far this year for United, once in the Premier League, once in the FA Cup and once in Europe. Famously, Chong came off of the substitute's bench in United's 3-1 Champions League win over PSG in Paris, a win that would see them through to the next round of Europe's showpiece tournament. Chong has also played against Southampton in the Premier League and is expected to play for United on a somewhat regular basis until the end of the season.
With Fulham's preparations afoot for next season, many are already asking whether or not the club can return to the top flight at the first time of asking. At Ladbrokes you will be able to find the best odds on Fulham's possible promotion in 2019-20.
According to reports from Holland, Fulham are not the only team looking to snap up the attacker, but it is also rumoured Ajax Amsterdam could make a surprise loan move for Chong and that Spanish clubs Real Betis and Villarreal have also been monitoring Chong's progress.
Chong will turn 20 at the end of this year.
