Arsenal have reportedly sealed the signing of Brazilian teenager Gabriel Martinelli under Edu Gaspar, who is set to be announced as their first-ever director of football.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Edu is expected to become the club's first director of football following the conclusion of his advisory role with Brazil following the Copa America.
The same publication reveals that the former Arsenal ace has already begun working on pursuing certain targets and he has already reached an agreement with one of those in Martinelli.
Martinelli, who is currently plying his trade with Brazilian minnows Ituano, is likely to join the north London giants later this month after the completion of his 18th birthday.
There were previous reports that he may struggle to earn a work permit but that does not appear an issue any longer with the teenager said to have secured an Italian passport.
Martinelli had previously undergone a trial with arch-rivals Manchester United.
