West Ham's board of directors are now willing to listen to offers for Austrian international attacker Marco Arnautovic. The Hammers' fan favourite almost moved to China during the January transfer window, but West Ham rejected the offer as they were originally opposed to a sale.
It is understood that now West Ham will listen to offers in the region of £40 million for the wantaway striker and are confident that a deal can be reached with returning interest from the Chinese Super League. Many new UK bookmakers are suggesting that Arnautovic will make the move before the end of this transfer window, with the odds on the forward staying at the club as low as 3/1.
The Chinese interest has returned, despite rejection only last January. It is understood that the Hammers have already rejected a £23 million offer from China this summer already, much to the disgust of Arnautovic and his agent, who have informed West Ham chairmen David Gold and Sullivan that the player must be allowed to leave the Premier League this summer.
West Ham have already agreed a transfer for a replacement in Pablo Fornals, a very highly-rated young Spaniard who had been chased by numerous teams across Europe. West Ham even beat Premier League rivals to sign the impressive player from Villarreal.
Manager Manuel Pellegrini will be hoping that Arnautovic's future is settled soon, so that the Chilean manager can begin his planning ahead of the new Premier League season.
