Spanish goalkeeper finally agrees to sign new Manchester United deal

07 July 2019 - 13:15

Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea is reported to have eventually agreed terms over a long-term contract with Manchester United.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts
  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players

  • The 28-year-old has been with the club for the past eight seasons but his future has come under discussion with his contract expiring at the end of next term.

De Gea has been in a contract standoff with United in the past few months but The Mirror claims that the club have now agreed on a £350,000-a-week extension with the shot-stopper.

The former Atletico Madrid man had initially sought a weekly package of around £500,000-a-week to extend his stay but following an extended period of discussions, he appears to have finally settled for a lesser sum.

With the deal, the Spanish ace is set to become the highest-paid goalkeeper in the world while he is assured of staying put with the Red Devils for the next five years at the least.
