Shaqiri wants Reds exit?

Xherdan Shaqiri open to Liverpool exit

Switzerland international Xherdan Shaqiri has admitted that he may consider a fresh challenge away from Liverpool after barely featuring for the Reds since the backend of the previous campaign.

  • Shaqiri was a lively presence for the Merseyside giants during the opening half of last season and he even starred in a 3-1 triumph over arch-rivals Manchester United at Anfield.

However, he was hardly handed with the chance to impress in the second half of the campaign and that has remained the case this term with just one substitute appearance in the Community Shield against Manchester City.

Speaking to Langenthaler Tagblatt, Shaqiri expressed his disappointment saying: "I'm disappointed that I did not play any more. Nobody likes to sit on the bench. It's clear that I want more time. I have to look at the situation and find a solution."

Liverpool have started the Premier League season in a bright fashion with back-to-back victories and that sees them at the top of the standings at the present point of time.
