QPR mourn death of Jones

QPR mourn death of Jones

25 August 2007 - 13:33

Promising young striker Ray Jones was last night killed in a car accident in East Ham at 12:20am. The player was described as having "the world at his feet" and a series of Premiership clubs were monitoring his progress.

  • Chelsea finally receive bid for Enzo Fernandez
  • Como agree deal to sign Robert Sanchez
  • 18 year old Jones had only recently been linked with a £200,000 move from QPR to Colchester.

Today's match between QPR and Burnley has been cancelled out of respect for the player. Jones had only just signed a 3 and a half year contract in January and the Football League, who allowed the cancellation of the game, expressed their condolences.
