Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has acknowledged that he may consider a fresh challenge away in January, should he continue to struggle for playing time with the club.

  • The Argentine was a regular presence for the Red Devils in pre-season but he has dropped out-of-favour with the beginning of the new Premier League campaign and has failed to make the matchday squad for three of the opening four games.

Speaking to The Mirror, Rojo admitted that he had the chance to join Everton during the summer transfer window but the deal did not materialise due to the intervention from the manager.

The 29-year-old added that he may push for an exit at the turn of the year, should he remain out of contention for gametime under head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

"I had the possibility of Everton, but by decisions of the club or the manager it wasn't possible. Now I have to fight until December and if it doesn't work out, I will try to leave," he said.

Rojo has been chosen by Argentina during the current international break but his national team spot could come under jeopardy, if he is not able to secure regular first-team football.
