  • The England international has sustained numerous injuries since his move to Old Trafford five years ago and he has recently recovered from a muscular problem picked up in August.

During Shaw's absence this term, Ashley Young and club graduate Brandon Williams have regularly featured in his position and the latter has received plenty of plaudits for his displays.

According to The Mirror, Solskjaer has informed Shaw that Williams has now established himself with the first-team squad and the club graduate is ahead of him in the pecking order for the left-back role.

Shaw has been included in the travelling squad to face Astana in the Europa League on Thursday. The squad comprises of 14 teenagers and manager Solskjaer has promised to offer gametime to most of them with qualification to the knockouts already sealed.
