Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that Odion Ighalo will travel with the team for Monday's Premier League clash at Chelsea.
The Nigerian international was the Red Devils' deadline day signing from Shanghai Shenhua on loan and he has since been working on his fitness, given he was only in pre-season with the Chinese Super League outfit.
Speaking to MUTV, Solskjaer has now confirmed that Ighalo will travel with the squad for the visit of Stamford Bridge and stated that the striker is desperate to play for the club.
"Yeah, he is going to travel with us. We will just see his fitness work this week and I think we will get him sharp. We want to integrate him as quickly as we can because, of course, he is desperate to play for us," he told.
Ighalo has not played in a Premier League game for more than three years and he has the chance to impress in the forthcoming months so that he can push for a permanent contract with the Mancunian giants.
Manchester United are currently six points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea in the standings and they have a good chance of halving the deficit by beating Frank Lampard's side
