Willian provides fresh update on his Chelsea future

26 February 2020 - 15:37

Brazil international Willian has confirmed that Chelsea have yet to meet his contract demands and that could see him leave on a free transfer in the summer.

  • Barcelona have genuine interest in Chelsea forward
  • Man Utd handed boost in signing West Ham star?

  • The attacker's current deal with the Blues expires in June 2020 and it appears that the west London side have refused to meet the forward's demands for a three-year contract.

Speaking to Esporte Interativo, Willian said: "Chelsea offered me two years, and they are not going to change what they offered. I said I wanted three more years. The situation is difficult because of this, I really don't know if it will be possible."

Willian was the subject of interest from Barcelona during the January transfer window but the Blues were reluctant to sanction his sale for any price after opting against signing new players.

Since then, the Brazilian has been in-and-out of the starting lineup under Frank Lampard and it seems that he will part ways following seven years with the Blues this summer.

Chelsea recently suffered a 3-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16. They will be in Premier League action at Bournemouth this weekend.
