Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hopeful that Harry Maguire will recover from an ankle concern ahead of the Manchester derby on Sunday.

  • The England international missed the recent FA Cup fifth round tie against Derby County after rolling his ankle in training earlier in the week.

Speaking after the club's 3-0 win at Pride Park, Solskjaer confirmed the incident and was optimistic of the defender's chances of facing the Cityzens at the weekend.

"He rolled over on his ankle, I wasn’t going to rest him today but it’s one of those things that happens in training and we had a few out today but I think he’ll be all right, he’ll be fine," he told via the club's website.

Maguire has been in top form for the Red Devils in recent weeks and he has helped them keep six clean sheets from his previous eight appearances in all competitions.

Most recently, he made a staggering 15 clearances in a dominant aerial display against Everton on the road and Solskjaer will be hoping that the defender is fit enough to feature in the derby.
