Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel has provided an update on his current contract situation at the west London giants.
The Dutchman has not made a single appearance for the Blues since the 2013/14 season and he has spent time on loan with the likes of AC Milan, Stoke City and PSV Eindhoven.
Since May 2018, he has had no competitive action, having struggled with a serious knee injury for which he has undergone multiple surgeries due to infection.
Ginkel is currently undergoing his rehabilitation at Stamford Bridge and speaking to PSV TV, he has said that he will assess his future options when the moment arrives.
"We haven't had contact about that yet, but other things are of course more important now. I will hear it when the moment arrives," he told PSV TV earlier this week.
The Dutchman's current deal expires at the end of June. FIFA has said that clubs will be able to extend contracts of players for a couple of months with the season end set to be delayed amid the coronavirus pandemic.
