Napoli are on the verge of completing a surprising £76.4 million move for Lille striker Victor Osimhen, with the player putting pen to paper on a deal for four years at his new club. Osimhen, 21, has recently caught the eye in Ligue 1 with a number of impressive performances, leading the Lille strike force in a solo role and returning 13 goals last campaign.
Osimhen emerged at German side VfL Wolfsburg before completing a switch to Belgian side Charleroi, who immediately transferred the Lagos-born player to Lille in a swift 5 million transfer deal.
L'Equipe has reported that the deal will be wrapped up today, Thursday, and is likely to beat the record paid to Lille when Arsenal transferred Nicolas Pepe last summer in a deal worth £72 million.
Napoli are looking for a new striker and have been scouring Europe for some time for the complete player, and are confident that Osimhen has the skills that will make him a world-beater in Serie A.
