Arsenal in contact with Chelsea star over transfer

Arsenal are reportedly in regular contact with Chelsea forward Willian as they seek to negotiate a potential contract for his services.

Willian's current deal with the Blues expires next month and he appears set to leave the club on a free transfer, as things stand.

The west London side have been in regular talks with him over a fresh deal, but so far, they have refused to meet his demands for a three-year extension.

Hence, it seems likely that he will pursue a fresh challenge this summer and Bleacher Report claims that the Gunners are firmly in the race to sign him.

The north London side are said to be discussing the terms of the contract and wages to determine whether they can finalise a suitable agreement.

Willian is currently experiencing his best-ever season on the personal level and he has bagged 11 goals and registered nine assists from 45 appearances.

Despite his contract winding up, he continues to remain a regular starter under manager Frank Lampard across all competitions.
