Tahith Chong set for Werder Bremen loan move

Tahith Chong set for Werder Bremen loan move

14 August 2020 - 00:36

Manchester United starlet Tahith Chong will make a move to Germany for the upcoming season as Werder Bremen appear to have secured a massive coup in the signing of the Dutch youngster. Chong, who has caught the eye at Old Trafford in recent months, will spend the duration of the next 9 months playing in the Bundesliga.

  • Robert Sanchez sends message after Chelsea draw vs Crystal Palace
  • Chelsea to accept less than £40m for attacker?

  • The 20-year-old winger, who has already played for United five times since coming through the ranks, is hopeful that a move to Werder Bremen will bolster his own chances of regular first-team football. Coming through the Feyenoord youth system catapulted Chong on to the European stage, and an impressive under 17 performance for the Netherlands persuaded Man Utd to make a move for the player in 2016. United had monitored his progress as far back as 2015 when he was only 14 years of age.

It is understood that Werder Bremen do not have an option to make the loan deal a permanent one after the duration of the deal, therefore Ole Gunnar Solksjaer is likely to include Chong within his own squad as of 2021.

Werder will cover the costs of Chong's salary for the duration of the deal. To find the latest odds visit gclub.co.
