Bild journalist Christian Falk has confirmed that Arsenal are in the running to sign Julian Brandt from Borussia Dortmund.
The Gunners have recently picked up successive victories in the Premier League and that sees them on 20 points after 16 games.
Still, they are languishing in the 13th spot with a nine-point deficit to the top four and the board are expected to strengthen the attack.
A new creative midfielder remains the priority and Falk on his official Twitter account has acknowledged that the Gunners are interested in Brandt.
"True. @Arsenal is interested in @JulianBrandt The transfer is already a topic in the dressing room," He posted on his official Twitter account.
Brandt bagged seven goals and 13 assists for Dortmund last term, but he has lost his way this season with only one goal and one assist.
As a result, he has fallen down the selection order and that could pave the way for his departure during the winter transfer window.
He was purchased for around £25m from Bayer Leverkusen few years ago and Dortmund could demand a similar sum.
