Michael Zorc reacts to Julian Brandt speculation

Zorc dismisses Arsenal talks for Brandt

Michael Zorc reacts to Julian Brandt speculation

02 January 2021 - 20:47

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has insisted that there has not been contact with Arsenal or any other club regarding Julian Brandt.

  • West Ham make £45m offer to sign Andrey Santos
  • Chelsea to accept less than £40m for attacker?

  • Brandt had a superb 2019/2020 season with Dortmund where he registered seven goals and 13 assists across all competitions.

However, he has struggled this term with just one goal and one assist to date and he has hence fallen down the selection order.

The Gunners are on the search for a creative midfielder this month and it was recently reported that they had made contact for Brandt.

However, Zorc has dismissed those claims and emphasised that there have not been talks with any club over the Germany international.

"I read that too, I can't say more about it. Nobody has contacted us, there is nothing on the table - and not even in the fax machine," He told Bild.

Brandt is currently a regular off the bench, but he continues to remain an integral part of the first-team plans for the season.

As such, he won't come on the cheap for the Gunners and reports claim that Dortmund may demand around £35m to sanction his sale.
