Lahm heads for Barcelona

Lahm heads for Barcelona

25 April 2008 - 20:20

German international defender Philipp Lahm looks set to be heading out of Bayern Munich after admitting earlier in the week contract discussions had fallen through. It appears that Barcelona are now set to swoop for the full back.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • The versatile full back is being lined up by Barcelona in preparation for next season as Gianluca Zambrotta looks to be heading for the exit door.

Bayern Munich are reportedly ready to allow Lahm to leave for as little as £7 million, which Barcelona are happy to pay for the German.

"My decision is set. My career plan means that one day I will leave FC Bayern and not just when I have reached my peak" Lahm said.

"For me the logical step is play abroad."
