Feyenoord win Dutch Cup

Feyenoord win Dutch Cup

27 April 2008 - 21:46

Feyenoord won their first trophy for six years after lifting the Dutch Cup thanks to a 2-0 victory over Roda JC in the final, with goals coming from Denny Landzaat and Jonathan de Guzman at the De Kuip stadium.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Feyenoord took an early lead when Landzaat converted a Luigi Bruins cross from close range after only eight minutes.

Jonathan De Guzman doubled the lead in the 36th minute following a neat one-two with Michael Mols.

"It's great to say goodbye with the cup and European football. We didn't play very well, but we scored at the right times, and after we went 2-0 up not much happened in front of either goal," said Bert van Marwijk the departing Feyenoord boss who will become the Holland national team manager.
