Simak joins Stuttgart

Troubled player Jan Simak has joined VfB Stuttgart in preparation for next season after seemingly defeating a battle against alcoholism. The former Hannover and Bayer Leverkusen man has opted to stay in the Bundesliga.

"I know I’ve made mistakes in the past, but that’s all over now. Stuttgart have offered me a new start in the first division. I’ll be doing my maximum to meet the expectations of the club as well as my own," said Simak.



"Stuttgart are a top notch team. If I play regularly for them and if I perform that will perhaps give me the chance to play again for the national side."
