Portsmouth chase Luisao

Portsmouth are reportedly in the market for £12 million rated Benfica defender Luisao. The Brazilian 27-year-old central defender has been scouted over the past few weeks by Pompey.

"I have demonstrated my ability over the last few years with Benfica, but I have no desire to speak about my future until the end of the season.



"The club are aware of my position, and if they receive a good offer for me then I have a good chance of leaving Portugal."



Luisao is regarded as the best defender in Portugal, and with rumours of Sol Campbell making a switch to Villarreal, the signing would represent a major coup.
