Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Harry Maguire will continue as the captain ahead of next season.
The England international had a tough 2021/22 campaign with the Red Devils, and this led to questions over his leadership qualities.
They have been reports that Ten Hag could change the leader for next term, but he has dismissed those claims in his press conference.
He said: "Harry Maguire is the captain. Of course, I have to get to know all the players and it takes time. But he is an established captain for a few years and he has achieved a lot of success, so I don't doubt about this issue."
Maguire has been the regular central defender for United since his arrival in 2019, but there are doubts over his position next season.
United are actively looking to sign Ajax star Lisandro Martinez, and if they manage to get him, he could be a regular starter for them.
In his case, there will be doubts over Maguire's spot in the line-up, suppose Raphael Varane is fit and available for selection.
