Manchester United have decided against signing Ajax winger Antony after learning of the hefty price tag.
The Brazil international is one of the top targets for manager Erik ten Hag this summer, but a deal seems unlikely to happen.
United recently made a verbal proposal of €60 million for the winger, but in turn, Ajax responded with a transfer valuation of €80 million.
According to Manchester Evening News, United no longer expect to sign him as they are unlikely to make such a huge outlay.
Antony has been out injured since the back end of March, and United may not want to take a risk with him at the current point.
Meanwhile, the recent progress of Jadon Sancho from the right wing has also encouraged the hierarchy to end the pursuit of Antony.
Antony is a specialist on the right wing, and United don't feel the need to spend with Sancho, Anthony Elanga and Amad Diallo in the squad.
