Chelsea remain in contention to sign Milan Skriniar from Inter Milan, according to Calciomercato.
The west London giants were linked with the Slovakian earlier this summer, but were put off by the €70 million asking price.
The Blues were determined to sign him at one point, but did not want to overpay, considering his deal expires next summer.
As per Calciomercato, the Blues will attempt to sign Skriniar on a pre-contract deal when the transfer window reopens this winter.
However, they won\'t have an easy route to the versatile defender, considering interest from Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.
Paris Saint-Germain were the closest to landing the centre-back this summer, but Inter refused to accept their proposal of around €50m.
They may end up regretting the transfer decision as Skriniar could now leave the club on a free transfer agreement after June next year.
Real Madrid are also admirers of the 27-year-old, but they may struggle to sign him with the lack of a guaranteed starting position.
