Manchester United could reportedly make a shock approach to sign Napoli defender Kim Min-jae next month.
The Red Devils currently have sufficient central defensive options but there are suggestions that Erik ten Hag wants more solidity.
Min-jae has been followed by United from his time at Beijing Guoan in China and it is now claimed that they are weighing up a January offer.
The South Korean joined Napoli from Fenerbahce earlier this summer. In the process, the club agreed to insert a €50m release clause.
This has apparently caught the radar of United. The Red Devils are ready to trigger the fee as early as January to beat their European rivals.
The clause is only valid for foreign clubs at the moment. It will be interesting to see whether the Red Devils will succeed in signing him.
Min-jae recently rubbished speculation over his future and Napoli are hopeful of sorting out a new deal to remove or increase the clause value.
