It is being reported that Portugese starlet is now on his way to Chelsea for a fee of approximately €23 million Euros.

The Blues are looking for a new defensive midfielder as Claude Makelele’s career winds down and Veloso is seen as the perfect replacement. The international midfielder currently plys his trade with Sporting Lisbon but is keen to move on to one of Europe’s top clubs to prove himself, and Abramovich’s money may well prove to be too tempting for the youngster.



It is thought that Newcastle recently had a bid of €20 million turned down and so Chelsea has stepped up their interest in the 21 year old.



Confident on the ball yet young and tenacious, Miguel Veloso is sure to be a firm favorite of the fans if he secures the switch to Stamford Bridge.
