Chelsea are set to finalise a new contract with midfielder N'Golo Kante, according to The Telegraph.
The Frenchman has been a pivotal figure for the Blues in midfield, but he has hardly played this season following a hamstring surgery.
Despite this, the club have been determined to keep him and they are now on the verge of committing him to a new long-term deal.
Kante, who should return to first-team action very soon, is expected to sign a fresh three-year deal with an option for another year.
The Blues were initially reluctant to extend his stay for more than two seasons, but decided to soften their stance over the past week.
Kante has been troubled by various injuries over the last three years and he will be hoping to stay unscathed when he makes his return.
The Frenchman is still a world-class performer on his day. He has the chance to prove his worth during the final weeks of the season.
