Manchester United are clear favourites to sign Napoli defender Kim Min-jae during the summer transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Red Devils have earmarked the South Korean as their top target to bolster the central defensive department this summer.
The club have already made contact with the player's entourage and Romano claims that they are front-runners to land him.
United are ready to trigger the €60 million release clause in his contract but they will have to wait until July 1-15 to do so.
As things stand, the Red Devils are doing everything possible to sign him but Romano claims that a potential takeover is key.
The Glazers have not committed any funds for the summer and the journalist believes Min-jae's move depends on new owners.
Furthermore, the club may also have to qualify for the Champions League in order to persuade the defender to join them.
Min-jae is also attracting interest from Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain ahead of this summer's transfer window.
