FC Barcelona full back Gianluca Zambrotta has said that this has been a season to forget for both and his club. The Catalan giants have once again ended up barren-handed and the Italian international said has termed this season as one to forget.
Barcelona have failed to challenge Real Madrid for the Spanish league title and faulted at the semi-final stage of the UEFA Champions League. This is the second successive season in which the Blaugrana have failed to garner a trophy and several of the players have been off-key throughout.
Gianluca Zambrotta himself has been under fire for his lackluster performance for Barca this season, which is his second in Spanish football, and said:
âI only think about finishing and forgetting this season. Then, we will see what happens.â
Barcelona took a 2-0 against Real Mallorca at Camp Nou on Sunday evening but allowed the Islanders to march back to a 3-2 win. Zambrotta had this to say after the match:
âThe atmosphere was a little bit strange, but that's something we were expecting. I believe we played a good football during the first-half and a not so good during the second.â
