Arsenal are likely to secure the signing of Ajax defender Jurrien Timber this weekend, according to De Telegraaf.
The Gunners have finalised a transfer fee with Ajax for the 22-year-old, but talks are underway over the payment terms.
Once that is complete, the Dutchman will be allowed to travel to London Colney to complete his medical tests.
It is now reported that Timber is preparing for his move to the Gunners by stepping up his fitness in the Ajax gym.
The versatile star wants to be super fit before linking up with the Gunners in pre-season. He has cut short his holidays.
Ajax are likely to give the green light for the move in the next 24 hours as there is no competition from any other club.
Timber has made it clear that he would like to join the Gunners and has already snubbed interest from Bayern Munich.
If things go as planned, Timber could link up with his new teammates as soon as they return for pre-season training.
