Valencia's footballing director, Juan Sanchez, is reportedly looking at Real Mallorca striker Daniel Guiza as the main target to kick start his "new project" at Valencia.
Despite David Villa saying he will stick with Los Ches if they decide not to sell him, Sanchez, a former Valencia striker himself, has started to make contingencies in case he does leave. And he sees Guiza as the main man to replace their prize assest, should they choose to cash in.
Both players have been the subject of transfer speculation, with Villa, one of the hottest properties in Europe, linked with Arsenal, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Spurs. Guiza is reportedly a target for Spurs amongst others.
Guiza has been in lethal form for Mallorca this season, and is the top marksman in La Liga, with 25 goals to his name.
