The Englishman has been a key player in central defence for the Blues, but he was handed an injury scare recently.

There were fears that he could miss international duty, but he has been given the all-clear to make the Three Lions squad.

England have a Euro 2024 qualifier against Ukraine this month before they face Scotland in an international friendly.

It is likely that Colwill will start on the bench against Ukraine, and could be handed minutes versus Scotland instead.

Colwill is currently in his breakthrough season with Chelsea. He has had an indifferent start to the campaign with them.

The Blues finished 12th in the Premier League last time around, and they are currently in the same spot in the league standings.

Despite spending around £400 million on top-class signings, they continue to struggle to find form and consistency.
