Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has said that Manchester United are playing underdog football following the derby defeat to Manchester City.
The Red Devils suffered a disappointing 3-0 loss to the Cityzens on Sunday. They were completely dominated from the off and never offered a challenge.
The defeat has put the club eight points behind the top four while they are already 11 points behind current league leaders Tottenham Hotspur.
Speaking after the game, Carragher hit out at the manager and asked what he has been doing on the training pitch with the football being played.
He said: "What Ten Hag's doing on the training pitch has nothing to do with Jim Ratcliffe coming in. They're playing underdog football. No other top team plays like that. What do they do on the football pitch?"
United need to regroup after the setback against the Cityzens. They have a Carabao Cup fourth round tie against Newcastle in midweek.
The Red Devils are the holders of the competition and face another huge challenge against the Magpies whom they beat in the final in February.
