Cheras Dad, Celso, met with Santos president Marcelo Teixeira to inform him he intended to take his son to Spain. Apart from a bumper offer from Real Madrid, the Cheras were also unhappy with the coaching of Alberto Vieira, who was in charge of Santos U13.
Such is the importance of the youngster, Santos decided to sack the coach Vieira rather than let Chera leave the club.
