Battle for wonderkid Chera

Battle for wonderkid Chera

11 September 2007 - 15:58

Man Utd, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all battling for the signing of 12-year-old Brazilian Jean Carlos Chera. The youngster currently represents Santos' youth side.

  • Chelsea ready to pay €75m for Eduardo Camavinga
  • Chelsea planning move for Strasbourg striker Joaquin Panichelli

  • CheraÂ’s Dad, Celso, met with Santos president Marcelo Teixeira to inform him he intended to take his son to Spain. Apart from a bumper offer from Real Madrid, the Cheras were also unhappy with the coaching of Alberto Vieira, who was in charge of Santos U13.

Such is the importance of the youngster, Santos decided to sack the coach Vieira rather than let Chera leave the club.

The player shot to fame when videos of him were posted on the internet, and Man Utd have been closely tracking the player for some time.
