Chelsea are eyeing an ambitious move to sign Estevao Willian from Palmeiras, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The 16-year-old is one of the brightest prospects in Brazilian football and he has already made his debut for Palmeiras in Serie A.
He is a left-footed winger by trade. His playing style and dribbling ability has led to comparisons with Brazilian legend Neymar.
The Blues have been keeping tabs on his situation since early October, but they are still far away from reaching an agreement.
The teenager currently has a release clause worth €60m in his contract and Palmeiras are unlikely to accept anything less for him.
They could agree on a long-term payment plan, but the Blues can't afford him at the current point due to Financial Fair Play issues.
Chelsea are focused on landing a striker this month, but that also depends on recouping funds from player sales in the coming weeks.
Willian is currently 16 years of age and won't be allowed to make his move to a European club until the summer of 2025 at least.
