Manchester United defender Alvaro Fernandez looks set to join Benfica on a permanent basis during the summer.
The left-back is currently on loan with Granada in La Liga, but he has been given permission to travel to Benfica for a medical.
The 20-year-old has already agreed personal terms and Record claim that he will join on loan with an obligation to buy for €8m.
United are likely to get a sell-on clause on the player as part of the deal, but it is unlikely that they will have a buy-back option inserted.
Fernandez has yet to make a competitive debut for the Red Devils and he is now expected to pursue a new challenge in his young career.
Benfica are known for transforming youngsters into genuine world beaters and Fernandez will be aiming to realise his full potential.
The Spaniard was hoping to break into the United side earlier this term and he will want to prove a point at the Portuguese champions.
