Barcelona defender Edmilson is looking set to join Villarreal in the summer after his Catalan club agreed to allow him to leave. The former Lyon man is set to sign a new two year deal.
It is believed that had Birmingham City survived iin the Premiership, they would have signed Edmilson at the end of the season.
Edmilson is out of contract in June and has already held discussions with Villarreal over a two year deal that will commence in August.
Villarreal came second this year and are keen to add experience to the squad.
