Manchester United have put their interest on Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee on hold, according to Florian Plettenberg.
The 22-year-old ace has been a key player for the Serie A outfit this term and he has amassed 10 goals and six assists.
His form has caught the eye of several English clubs including Arsenal and United, but the Red Devils have other plans in mind.
Plettenberg claims that United have turned their attention to land Mathys Tel from Bayern. They have contacted his entourage.
As a result, their interest in Zirkzee has somewhat diminished, but they could return for him depending on the situation of Tel.
Tel has been a fringe player for Bayern this term with only 700 minutes across 27 games. He is looking for more playing time.
This could pave the way for his departure. United will be aiming to prise him away if Bayern give the green light this summer.
Chelsea are also said to be admirers of the former Rennes graduate.
