Jones not thinking of Europe

Jones not thinking of Europe

17 May 2008 - 10:47

Cardiff City boss David Jones admits he is looking forward to the FA Cup Final, but is not yet taking anything for granted. The Cardiff coach is focussed on winning the FA Cup, and then will start thinking about Europe if the opportunity presents itself.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • Jones quipped: "Winning the FA Cup is our priority, and then what follows after that will be the next stage.

"But we're not even thinking about that. What we are thinking about is trying to beat a very good side.

"If we do that the rest will follow. I read the other day that the last 22 cup finals, 19 times it's been won by the top four clubs so we've broken that mould.

"This is probably what the cup's about but what we've also probably done is alert a lot of the other Premier League clubs that this is a route into Europe in a competition they can win."
