Manchester United are very interested in signing Sporting Lisbon centre-back Goncalo Inacio during the upcoming transfer window.
The Portuguese has been linked with the Red Devils for the past two years and the club are now lining up a formal approach for him.
O Jogo claim that Inacio is the likeliest candidate to leave Sporting this month. The Portuguese side need to balance their books by June 30.
United are really determined to land his signature but they have no plans of paying his €60m release clause and prefer to negotiate.
The Mancunian giants are aiming to sign him for a lower fee up front with the remaining adjusted in the form of performance add-ons.
It is left to be seen whether Sporting are willing to discuss. Inacio is a left-footed centre-back and could be seen as Lisandro Martinez's deputy.
Martinez has had plenty of injury troubles over the past year and the hierarchy may want a like-for-like replacement for the Argentine.
