Arsenal and Manchester United are in the race to sign Benfica wonderkid Joao Neves during the summer transfer window.
The 19-year-old had a fantastic 2023/24 season with the Primeira Liga giants where he was brilliant with his positioning in midfield.
He also caught the eye with his work rate and high pressing and he could be on the move when the transfer window reopens.
Benfica currently value him at his €120m release clause but reports claim that they could be compelled to accept a lesser price.
The club are aiming to balance their books with a big-money sale and Neves seems the most likely candidate to head for the exit door.
Arsenal and United have already made an opening €60m bid that has been rejected. The duo are expected to make improved proposals.
The Gunners could have an edge over United in the pursuit, considering they have qualified for the Champions League next season.
Arsenal have just missed out on the league title in the last two campaigns, and they should prove a more lucrative destination for Neves.
